DEFINITION
- [Wikipedia] Thermal amplitude is the difference between the minimum and maximum temperature at the same location during a given period of time1 . This period can be daily, monthly, seasonal or annual. Several factors influence the thermal amplitude of a region's climate: sunshine, cloud cover, average humidity, relief, proximity to the sea and the relative length of days and nights.
